The Northeast Community College, Norfolk Chamber of Commerce and Heritage Nebraska Main Street Program have teamed up with GROW Nebraska to offer a unique shopping opportunity in downtown Norfolk. The store was originally a holiday store for the 2010 holiday season, and is also open for the 2011 holiday season.

“This is the first time GROW’s gone into a historic building downtown,” said GROW CEO Janell Anderson Ehrke. “Norfolk has just launched a buy local program so this is a really good fit for us.” The Northeast Community college encouraged GROW to open a store in Norfolk to reach new markets in the Northern part of the state. “We are revitalizing downtown Norfolk right now, so GROW was a good fit with the other improvements that are going on in that area right now,” says Joe Ferguson, Director of Business & Industry/Economic Development at NECC. “There are a lot of great restaurants and retail shops in downtown already and the GROW Nebraska store just helps round out the whole downtown shopping experience.”

Village Centre
Columbus, NE 68601

For the 2010 Holiday Season, GROW Nebraska™ opened a holiday store featuring Nebraska products in Village Center in Columbus, NE. The Columbus Community College, Columbus Pinnacle Bank and Cornerstone Bank were all participating sponsors to help make this fourth holiday store a reality. For Columbus, this partnership is not just about another marketing opportunity for Nebraska businesses. "This activity will be an education adventure for CCC Business Administration/Marketing students," says Doris Lux of Central Community College. "The college supports any entrepreneurial adventure that will help local entrepreneurs grow and become successful. If other people in Nebraska can do it that might give some local people the idea that they can also be successful in their product ideas."
