Flavors Stop #7 – Heavenly Creations, Stapleton, NE



Have you been to Stapleton? Nested in the Sandhills of Nebraska, it’s not a very big place. It’s home to friendly people and a really great tea shoppe. (You can’t talk about a tea shop without the ‘pe’ on the end – it just wouldn’t be right!) Your hostess is Katrina Frey, an extraordinary entrepreneur, baker, jelly and syrup maker and oh-my-gosh the toffee! It’s to die for – her creations are truly heavenly. If you aren’t a baker yourself, you can pick up some of her baking mix for delicious items that absolutely set off the jelly and syrup.

As a busy farm wife, mother and businesswoman, Katrina knows that women are inclined to keep going and going to meet the needs of their families. She invites you to come to her tearoom to relax, pick out your favorite china cup, select a soothing tea, browse the music collection and take a load off! You can also check out a great selection of Nebraska products and do some recreational shopping. This Heavenly store provides food, music, shopping, and fun with friends – what could be better?

The Flavors of Nebraska project is all about experiences, and Katrina offers one that is quite unique. Many of her products contain fruits that are native to Nebraska. An element of her work she can share is picking wild fruit, and you are welcome to visit and join in a picking expedition. Chokecherries and sand cherries ripen in mid to late July, elderberries in August and wild plums (my favorite!) in August and September. Please call to arrange this expedition in advance.

Nebraska has a reputation for warm, friendly people, and they don’t come any finer than Katrina. Give her a call or stop by the tea shoppe to find out for yourself!!
